Latest PaperVision^® Enterprise Release (Version 11.2) Now Available

December 4, 2003 — Our latest upgrade of PaperVision Enterprise (PVE) v.11.2 continues to illustrate our commitment to ease-of-use, price/performance, feature functionality and architectural flexibility with over twenty significant enhancements that encompass user productivity and system efficiency.

Only PaperVision Enterprise is enabled for the newest complementary component: Directory Manager!

Directory Manager (DM) is an automated service which performs imports of miscellaneous files from any media. It can automatically index the imported files based on directory names, file names, delimited segments of file names, and file modification date. This component not only allows customers to import from their ad-hoc document management systems and third-party capture applications, but to also tightly integrate with fax server systems and network-attached scanner/copiers. This functionality comes without the added expense of new hardware! Additionally, this component can also support importing third-party provided full-text data for images from an associated full text file. DM can be licensed separately or is included with the PaperVision Enterprise Advanced Administration Pack. Just think of all the ways you can bring your corporate information stored in your Windows® folders under control!

Complementing DM as part of this upgrade, we have also created a new API call, “AttachNewDocEx” to support attaching non-textual content documents with an associated separate text file containing full-text content information to PaperVision Enterprise. This also returns the document ID of the newly created document in the results. However, those wanting batch or automated transfer functionality, will want to start using PaperVision Enterprise Directory Manager today.

The WorkFlow History and Status Filters include the associated WorkFlow definition name when listing worksteps.

This new feature improves report review and construction by listing the worksteps right along side of the WorkFlows. While we were working on worksteps, we updated the automation service engine to ensure that users cannot inadvertently tax your server. Just another efficiency we thought of so you don’t have to!

We added an option to automatically create new attachment data groups when the existing one reaches a size you specify. For instance setting the file size limit to 600 megabytes is perfect for moving data to a CD to meet the unalterable media requirements set forth in regulation promulgated from the nice folks at the SEC or the FDA. And forget about the added expense for optical jukeboxes or hierarchical storage management software, as PVE v.11.2 has the ability to physically move entire data groups from one storage location to another. All included, as a part of our operating philosophy that your ECM system shouldn’t have to be so hard and it shouldn’t have to cost so much.
